EduTorque Racing is launched in 2014 as an integral extension of the company’s mission to promote motorsports to our youths. It encompasses various levels of engagement, from the coaching of karting enthusiasts, to our very own race team, and to the penultimate involvement in professional races around the region.
As part of the company’s mission to educate youths about the industry and inspire them to be a part of this dynamic motorsports industry, EduTorque is sponsoring two professional Singaporean race drivers – Yuey Tan and Claire Louise Jedrek – for their racing endeavors in 2014.
Learning the craft at 22 with road cars and track days, Yuey moved on to the Porsche Driving Training Programme in Queensland, Australia and continued there for several years. In 2008, he entered his first race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Series. In 2012, he reached the podium steps 18 times in over 100 International starts, with a race win. 2013 also saw his best performance in a season, collecting 9 podium finishes.
In 2013, Claire worked as Team Manager with the DORR McElrea Racing Team and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. She then drove for the first time at the Zhuhai track, testing in the Formula Renault Car. As an avid go-karter in local leagues and endurance races, Claire secured a podium win and 3 podium places – one for every race she participated in. In 2014, Claire will embark on her driving career through participation in the regional racing series, such as the Malaysian Super Series and the Volkswagen Scirocco Cup.
Collaborating with our media partner, EduTorque started a go-kart racing team in 2014 to provide a platform for our trainees, who have performed outstandingly in the school courses or Driver Development Programme, to participate in the sport at a more competitive level. They will undergo a more intense training regime and race competitively in regional go-kart races.
The Driver Development Programme is built on the EduTorque’s expertise in education of motorsports, as well as our passion to promote go-karting as a sport to the larger community. The structured programme, conducted by qualified trainers, is an excellent platform for anyone (as young as 8 years-old) to learn the ropes of go-karting.
This is an introductory course to give trainees a quick taste of go-karting. It involves a short training on our motion driving simulator to learn simple concepts of driving lines and braking points, before proceeding on to real track experience with our race kart.
This is a comprehensive course, divided into two phases, for trainees seeking more in-depth and personalized coaching. Phase 1 involves a few sessions on the motion driving simulator to learn and master the concepts of driving lines and braking points, before hitting the tracks on a fun kart for an assessment. Phase 2 involves the use of a race kart to apply the techniques learnt and receive customized coaching based on personal physique and ability.
EduTorque is offering a unique marketing opportunity which centers around inspiring and
educating our youths, and the promotion of motorsport in the region.
